Important Booking Information

We have made a major change to the booking process this year. This has been done in response to the growing problem of trying to maintain a good ratio of leaders to followers in the classes.

Last year bookings from single followers flooded in so quickly that we had to cut off bookings to any further single followers after only just over 24 hours. By this time we already had a large imbalance of followers and could only accept bookings from couples or leaders. Before long we also had to turn away couples wanting to book, leaving the last places to be filled by single leaders.

This situation was unfair as some single followers got places whereas other single followers had to find a leader to book with in order to secure their place. We have therefore listened to your feedback and introduced a new system. We feel this system is fairer to all followers and will make it much easier for us to achieve an even ratio of leaders and followers. This will of course be of benefit to all of you. The bookings process is as follows:

Followers
You need to find a leader to book with as your partner. You don't need to be the same dancing ability and will be placed in different class groupings according to your individual ability/experience. You will just be registering with them as your partner for the purposes of booking only. Of course if they really are your regular dance partner then you can request to be in the same class grouping.

This is how the booking process works:

1) Followers should find a leader who is willing to book with them.
2) The leader must book his place first.
3) The leader should then give the follower his booking reference number.
4) The follower can then use his reference number to book her own place. This should be done no later than one week after the lead as booked.

Note: Each person should register their own booking and make payment separately.

Any single follower that can't find a leader to book with can join our waiting list. Any places created by single leaders booking without a partner will be offered to single followers on the waiting list. Every year there are also some people that fail to make their payment within the deadline. Others just cancel for personal reasons. Their places will of course be reallocated to people on the waiting list. In addition, once we've received our full quota of bookings and split everyone into the class groupings, there will be opportunities to offer a few additional places to followers in some of the groups.

To join the waiting list please proceed to the booking form and register your full details (no payment is required at this stage). Your name and details will then be added to the waiting list and you'll receive an email confirmation of this...

Leaders
You can go ahead and book your place without restriction. You can then give your booking reference to your follower so that she can then book as well. Please do not give out your booking reference to a follow later than one week of your booking as it will no longer be valid. If you are a single leader without a partner then we'll be able to offer a place to a single follower from the waiting list as a result of your booking.

In summary, single followers are best advised to find a leader to book with. This is the only way to guarantee your place. Failing this you can join the waiting list and hope that a place becomes available.
