Welcome
We are pleased to announce the return of the London Balboa Festival. The event will be on the weekend of 26th-28th October 2012.
The format of this year's festival is different to previous years. Balboa was a little-known dance back in 2003 when the festival began. Hence the original aim was to promote better awareness of Balboa and to encourage more people to learn this wonderful dance. We are fortunate that to a large extent this aim has already been achieved. Our new aim is to provide the intensive and personal learning experience you would normally only find in a small workshop, whilst retaining the atmosphere and buzz of a large event.
You can choose from one of two tracks, with all of your classes being with the teachers for that track (see the workshops page for more details). We're pleased to announce that the teachers are as follows.
Track 1
- Sylvia Sykes & Nick Williams (USA)
- Valerie Salstrom & Jacob Wigger (USA)
Track 2
- Mickey Fortanasce & Kelly Arsenault (USA)
- Jeremy Otth & Laura Keat (USA)
A great line-up of entertainment is planned for the evenings with dances on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We have two great bands lined up with The Shirt Tail Stompers on Friday and Alex Mendham & His Orchestra on Saturday. All of the dances are included in the price for those attending the workshops. Please note that we are unable to offer evening-only tickets this year.
All venues are in Chiswick, West London.
The festival has been a popular annual fixture on the swing calendar and we are excited to be bringing it back. It is still organised and run as a non-profit making organisation. Don't miss this opportunity to get involved and join us for this 7th London Balboa Festival.
Bookings are now open. The festival has sold out very quickly in the past so we advise you to book promptly. Visit the bookings page to register.
